Barrier’s facilities are designed to support large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects across energy, marine, defence and industrial sectors. Each site combines modern equipment with specialist teams, enabling us to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Our headquarters in Wallsend, Newcastle is home to fireproofing and specialist coating operations, backed by extensive blasting and painting facilities. This site has supported projects since our origins in the North Sea and continues to serve as a hub for our UK operations.
At Wynyard, Stockton-on-Tees, we oversee modular construction and architectural outfitting. The site includes offices, workshops and assembly areas for containerised modules, cabins and specialist outfitting packages. Its location provides access to one of Europe’s largest pools of skilled construction and management personnel.
Our fabrication facilities in Middlesbrough offer more than 4,000m² of manufacturing space, 2,000m² of outfitting and laydown areas, and heavy cranage capacity. These workshops support the design, build and outfitting of accommodation units, substations, blast modules and other large-scale fabricated structures.
In Haverton Hill, Teesside, our dedicated fire protection facility includes five workshop bays, cranage up to 10 tonnes, and over three acres of secure yard and storage. This site specialises in passive fire protection prefabrication and on-site support.
Internationally, Barrier has established a strong presence in Canada through Barrier Marine Services, complete with fabrication shops, warehousing and engineering offices to support the National Shipbuilding Strategy.
Together, these facilities give Barrier the capacity, flexibility and resources to deliver multi-million-pound projects at scale, while maintaining the high levels of safety, quality and reliability that our clients expect.
